Galleros Artesanos have been hand making their world famous chocolate Belen for over 90 years. The famous chocolate factory opens on October 12th with the largest chocolate Nativity scene in the world.
It is literally metres and metres of white, mile and dark chocolate depicting an entire village bustling with activity, unravelling with markets, donkeys, camels and tradesmen, with the Nativity taking pride of place and often with rivers of chocolate flowing around the houses and stalls.
It is a journey full of Christmas figures, pictures of everyday life, statues, fountains, springs, streets, roads and monuments that partly recreates the Camino de Santiago based on dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate. In this company you will have the opportunity to visit the largest chocolate crib in Spain. It recreates streets, temples, characters and scenes of everyday life that Jesus lived at the time of his birth, each year inspired by different places.
People come in their thousands from all over Spain and further afield to view this extraordinary achievement the smell alone is absolutely divine and you can leave buying your boxes of traditional Spanish Christmas Biscuits and chocolates after taking the tour.
Galleros Artesanos de Rute is a family business and the chocolate Belen can be visited daily until January 6th from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm and from 4pm to 8pm
