This charming detached hamlet cottage is situated in a small country hamlet of around 10 houses, in a lush river valley planted with avocado, mango and citrus orchards, this delightful detached house has excellent access, with no dirt track,

The house was formerly the village pub and has great character retaining all of its original charm and character with original cane and tile roofs, original floor tiles and beams. The wooden windows are typical of the area too, and many of the internal doors are original double wooden doors.

To the front of the house is a pretty terrace, stretching along the entire facade, which has two front doors, as this house used to be two houses. To each side are entrance gates to the garden, and one of these is used as an off street parking area. The front terrace has grapevines for cover, providing leafy shade in the Summer and plenty of sunshine in the Winter.

The property has 140 m2 of living space. The main front door leads into the main living area, with original, rare burgundy and cream chequered floor tiles. This lovely room is used as a kitchen, dining room and living area, with a beautiful log burner/cooker at one end, and a rustic style, beautiful kitchen. To the left hand end of this room, two steps up lead to bedroom 1, again with original floor tiles, double doors out to the front terrace, and a window to the rear garden. Beyond is a door to a slightly old fashioned en-suite bathroom, which could be improved or replaced if required.

Back in the main room, to the rear, thick walls and double doors lead into a small, cosy living room with a cupboard set into the thick walls, and doors leading out to the rear terrace. From the terrace are steps down to the garden.

From the kitchen area, a door in the rear wall leads into what was once a third bedroom and is now used as a very large and useful pantry and store area with a window to the garden. From here, a door opens onto white painted steps, which lead down to the lower ground floor, and into bedroom 2. This lovely, very cool room, has a door out to the garden, and an en-suite shower room plus walk-in wardrobe area.

Outside, accessed from the garden to the rear, is an additional room, currently used as a useful tool and storage shed. This room is directly under bedroom 1. It would be possible to add a spiral staircase to join bedroom 1 upstairs with this room, to make a separate living unit.

The garden is 740 m2 and totally fenced of 740 m2 with 2 large, mature and very productive lemon trees, 2 olive trees, a pomegranate and plum, all mature and fruitful. In addition there is a carob tree, and many flowering shrubs and bushes. As the current owners keep it in a very natural state, it is a riot of flowers in the spring and attracts a vast array of wild birds. Through the trees and bushes, one can spot the lovely views of the hills and valleys of this lovely country area.

Located 7 minutes from the town of Benamargosa and 10 minutes from Comares, this detached cottage is in a quiet little hamlet. A daily delivery of bread and fish with weekly deliveries of meat and comestibles mean you donít even have to leave the hamlet. You get a feel of real Spain here with the added advantage of friendly neighbours who often bestow fresh vegetables and fruit from their allotments.

However all amenities are available a short drive away in Benamargosa and Comares. The beaches of the Costa del Sol are only 25 minutes drive away. As are the larger towns of Velez Malaga and Torre de Mar, Malaga airport in a convenient 45 minute drive.
