Refugio Bonales is the first and only Mountain Refuge and Nature Reserve in the Park Natural Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche.
The area is ideal for year round walking and hiking, and getting up close with nature and wildlife. Combining activity holidays with nature and wildlife guests make the lovely 1.5 hour walk from Arroyomolinos de Leon accompanied by pack mules if needed. The use of motor vehicles is discouraged unless necessary.
In this unique setting an endless network of paths starts from your accommodation, which itself is located on the route up to the highest point of the Sierra Morena Occidental (Tentudía Monastery, 1,100 m).
From here a series of paths branch out over glorious hill country giving far and spectacular views. Much of the terrain is woodland and open hillsides. The area is relatively unknown to foreign tourists and few other walkers and hikers will be seen.
Amid the remains of old Mediterranean forests and pastures stands the Bonales Mountain Refuge. An excellent habitat and wildlife reserve, both flora and fauna.
It is located in Arroyomolinos de León (Huelva), at 900m on the southern slope of a hill next to the right bank of the Moral river. At the foot of the highest parts of Huelva (1,057 m. the Bonales) and Badajoz (1,110 m. Monastery Tentudía). The refuge is situated in lush hill country, surrounded by chestnut and oak trees. It is a restoration of an old mountain farmhouse.
The refuge is open all year round and has Eco-tourism and Sustainable Certification(Eco-tour)bathroom. The property has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room with fireplace, library, two attics, two showers, kitchen and games room. Outside is a terrace.
Set in 70,000 m2 with stream for swimming pool, orchard, threshing area and more than 100 plants and trees including the Pyrenean oak, cork, and olives.
Located in Leon Arroyomolinoas on the southern slope of the hill of Bonales, on the right bank of the stream of Moral. The property is surrounded by oaks and is in a very lush location, secluded, remote and totally unspoiled.
